QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT HIS OR HER CHOICE OF Rh-IMMUNE GLOBULIN (RhIG) BRAND

  1. WHICH BRAND OF RhIG THERAPY WILL YOU BE PRESCRIBING FOR ME?
    It’s important to ask this question, because your physician has a few different options. If the answer is “RhoGAM® Brand,” you can move on to question #5. All the reasons that you want RhoGAM® Brand can be found on this Website. However, if your doctor names another brand, you may wish to ask question numbers 2 through 5.


  2. HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE WITH THIS RhIG THERAPY?
    Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, a Johnson & Johnson company, was integral in discovering and delivering a treatment for the prevention of HDN with the introduction of RhoGAM® Brand in 1968. RhoGAM® Brand has been protecting mothers and babies for more than two generations.


  3. WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THE PLASMA SOURCE FOR THIS PRODUCT?
    Many plasma-derived pharmaceutical products use blood drawn from thousands of unknown donors from many different donation centers. Ortho Clinical Diagnostics is unique because its plasma source comes from its own donor center located near Buffalo, New York. And the plasma that is collected there is derived from a highly select, continually screened pool of well-known donors—the majority of whom have been with the program for more than 10 years, some as long as 30 years.


  4. HAS THERE EVER BEEN ANY INTERRUPTIONS IN SUPPLY WITH THIS RhIG BRAND?
    In the past, other RhIG manufacturers have had issues with supply and product availability, but there has never been an interruption in the supply of RhoGAM® Brand in 40 years of production.


  5. IF YOU DO PRESCRIBE RhoGAM® BRAND FOR ME, HOW CAN I BE SURE YOUR PRESCRIPTION WILL BE FILLED AS WRITTEN?
    Ask your doctor to prescribe RhoGAM® Brand and note “dispense as written” or “no substitution” on the prescription.
